What do you mean by impairment?
The state of having a physical or mental condition which means that part of your body or brain does not work properly.
What do you mean by Computer Accessibility?
Computer Accessibility refers to the user friendliness of a computer system for all, regardless of their disability. This is mainly a software issue. However, when a combination of hardware and software, it enables a person with a disability or impairment to use a computer. It is known as Assistive Technology.
Explain three types of impairments that impact computer usage.
Vision People who are blind or have low vision or have color blindness cannot fully access visual material on a computer screen.
Hearing. People with hearing impairments cannot perceive the audio contents.
Mobility. People with mobility impairments find it difficult to operate devices like keyboard and mouse etc.
What do you understand about accessibility options? What is their need?
Accessibility options are the settings done on a computer so that computer OS can take input in different forms other than mouse and keyboard and provide output other than monitor or printed form e.g. input commands with voice.
Not all computer users are equally abled. But computers as a tool must be available for all despite their visual or hearing or motor-skill impairments. Thus, modern day computers come with accessibility options so that all can use computers with equal ease.
What all accessibility options are available on Windows OS?
Various accessibility options on windows OS are : Narrator, Audio descriptions, Magnifiers, Speech recognition, sticky keys, toggle keys, and filter keys.

What is a magnifier? How is it useful?
IT is a special feature that makes part or the entire computer screen bigger so that the user can see words and images better. It is used for people with vision issues as they can see the screen in bigger size.
What is the narrator? How is it useful?
As it is a screen reading app which reads out aloud the text on the computer screen. It is useful for people who are blind or have very low vision as they can hear the text on screen in audio form.
What is a closed captions feature?
Ans. Closed captions are textual representations of the audio in a TV program. captions can display the spoken dialogue in a show, as well as non-verbal information, such as music and sound effects.
What features are useful for people with low vision?
Ans: Narrator and Magnifier.
What features are useful for people with hearing loss?
Ans. Sound volume and closed captions.
What features are useful for people with speech impairment?
Ans, Presentation tools, Messaging tools, text-to-speech feature.
What features are useful for people with mobility issues?

What do you mean by Serial Keys?
Serial Keys is an accessibility feature that assists people that have difficulty using a keyboard or a mouse (or both). They can use special device such as sip, puff and Breath switches to provide input to the computer through Serial Ports.
Working with Accessibility options: Accessibility options available in Windows7 and higher versions allows people with disabilities to work on a computer with ease, termed as “ Ease of access”. Ease of Access option is available inside the control Panel and is used to customize the way your keyboard, display or mouse functions.
TO launch Accessibility options in Windows 7 or higher versions, follow the given steps.
CLICK START—-> CONTROL PANNEL (SETTING) —---> EASE OF ACCESS —--> EASE OF ACCESS CENTER.
THERE ARE FIVE OPTIONS: NARRATOR, MAGNIFIER, HIGH CONTRAST, KEYBOARD AND MOUSE

Keyboard Tab: Sticky keys, Toggle keys and filter key
Sticky Keys: It is an accessibility feature to help computer users with physical disabilities reduce repetitive strain. Turning Sticky Keys on Allows the user to press and release a special/modifier key such as Shift, ctrl, Alt or the windows key, and have it remain active until any other key is pressed.
Toggle Keys: Toggle keys are helpful for people who have vision impairment s or cognitive disabilities. Keys such as shift, ctrl, Num lock, Scroll lock, Caps Lock, etc. are pressed accidentally by the user.
Toggle keys produce a beep sound. A high-pitched sound is generated when the keys are switched “ON”’ and low pitched sound is generated when the keys are switched “OFF”.
Filter keys: It is another accessibility option which is very useful for people with shaky hands. By turning filter keys on. It will enable the keyboard to ignore brief or repeated keystrokes, making typing easier for people with hand tremor or trembling/shaky hands.
Mouse Tab with mouse keys:
People with physical/motor impairments find it difficult to work with a mouse. This limitation can be overcome by tuning mouse key on with the Mouse Tab.
It allows the user to use arrow keys on the numeric keypad present on the keyboard to move the cursor on the screen and the Entry key to click instead of a mouse click. For example, the user can press up arrow and left arrow key to move mouse pointer diagonally upwards towards the left side.

Sound Sentry has been designed to help users with auditory impairments. It is a convenient feature that has been developed for people who have difficulty in hearing. Sound Sentry generates certain text or visual warnings such as a blinking title bar, a flashing border whenever a sound is produced by the computer system. Also, when an error sound plays, there will be a visual alert displayed if you have this setting enabled.
